West Fork Oak Creek Trail - Sedona, AZ

Sedona, Arizona may be known around the world for its magnificent scenery but to the north is a wonderful surprise -- Oak Creek Canyon. The Canyon, carved by Oak Creek over the eons, provides visitors a delightful view of Arizona's other side. West Fork Oak Creek Trail #108 (off U.S. Route 89A, about 17 miles south of Flagstaff or 10 miles north of Sedona, AZ in the scenic Oak Creek Canyon) is one of the most popular trails in Oak Creek Canyon and the Coconino National Forest. The reasons are many but these are ours: geology, history, natural beauty, and easy access. A major distraction is the number of fellow hikers at the trailhead but the numbers thin out and soon you have a sense of being all alone in this family-friendly trail.
