Visit to San Juan Islands, Washington Fred is from New England, Massachusetts to be exact, and a long line of "ocean lovers." While he enjoys living in Arizona, there is a serious need, about once a year, to breathe salt air and walk along a sandy shoreline. So, while researching the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest's campgrounds, we decided to take a week long side trip to the San Juan Islands. We stayed near Anancortes on Fidalgo Island and branched out to explore Whidbey, Fidalgo, and Orcas islands.
