UPDATE DATE: 8/28/2020

STATE: Mississippi

REGION: Southern

RANGER DISTRICT: Homochitto

NEAREST CITY/TOWN: Meadville

DIRECTIONS:
From Meadville, MS, take US Rt. 84/98 west for 3.6 miles to
Homochitto National Forest Recreation Area sign. Turn left at
sign and go 4.1 miles to campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The campground, adjacent to Clear Spring Lake, consists of two loops.
One is along a ridge above the lake and the other is at lakeside.
Most camp sites offer a delightful view and some are terraced. The
pavilion located in the day-use area is the only indication left of
its Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) origin. In general, the campground
is beautifully manicured, picturesque and reflects "loving" care.
One unusual feature is a bicycle shower located at the trailhead of
Tally's Trail.

If horseback riding is of interest, there is the nearby, privately-owned
Brushy Creek Guest Ranch. Horses can be rented for trail riding through
some beautiful Homochitto National Forest hills and countryside.
