230_08_bridge_across_naturalbridge.jpg The Natural Bridge formation, just south of the campground by the same name, has been popular with visitors to the Union Creek area for decades. The Rogue River flows through a basalt canyon to disappear down a lava tube. A maintained trail leads across this man-made bridge to an observation deck at one end of the tube. There are times during the year when the top of the lava tube is actually dry except for some puddles. A sturdy fence along the canyon's rim keeps every family member safe.
