230_07_rogue_gorge.jpg.jpg The Rogue Gorge isn't as big as some but it is interesting. The Rogue River tumbles, churns, and races through the narrow basalt rock canyon. A good trail along the Gorge's rim has small observation areas permitting views of the turbulent water. It isn't a long walk and the windy mist cools visitors on their way. If it is a very hot day, and the mist hasn't cooled walkers enough, there is ice cream waiting in the nearby Union Creek Historic District.
