Bug Scrubber

I love rolling down the highway in our motorhome with my sweetie next to me and my puppies close by.  What I don’t like is the hundreds, maybe thousands, of bugs that get pasted to the front of the motorhome.  You might think the problem wouldn’t be so bad when the landscape is desert but that isn’t always the case.  But whatever, after a while, the front of our rig looks like a museum Entomology exhibit.  It’s not a look I prefer so I’ll get out our bucket, hose, and soap and start washing odd the swarms of bugs.  There were hundred, maybe thousands, of little bug bodies dried securely to the car.  Yuck!

How do I remove those pesky little guys?

I made myself a “Bug Scrubber” and have at them.  A great feature of my DIY Bug Scrubber is it is easy on the vehicle’s pain.    Here’ how I made one:

You’ll need a plastic net bag (like the store sells onions in), scissors, and elastic tape or thread.

cut nylon vegetable bag
Remove all the labels and hard things on your plastic bag.
Fold the plastic bag in half.
Using a simple “running stitch, weave your elastic thread or tape through the bag.
Pull the elastic tight so it scrunches up and tie tightly.  And there you have a Bug Scrubber.
