{"id":763,"date":"2020-02-11T04:16:22","date_gmt":"2020-02-11T11:16:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forestcamping.com\/blog\/?p=763"},"modified":"2020-02-03T10:32:07","modified_gmt":"2020-02-03T17:32:07","slug":"a-leash-for-ralf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/a-leash-for-ralf\/","title":{"rendered":"A leash for Ralf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/leash-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-764\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/leash-1-300x176.jpg\" alt=\"Getting started\" width=\"300\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a>I like to knit while Fred drives.\u00a0 Looking for a project recently I realized I had some leftover cotton yarn, a pair of number 7 double pointed knitting needles and Ralf could use a new leash.\u00a0 Cool beans.\u00a0 Here\u2019s what I did:<\/p>\n<p>Got a clip hook at a hardware store.\u00a0 I used a bowline knot (recommended by Fred, the former sailor) to attach the yard to the clip hook\u2019s base, keeping it fairly loose.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/leash-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-765\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/leash-2-287x300.jpg\" alt=\"Knit stitches\" width=\"287\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Next, I wound five very loose loops around the base.\u00a0 Here\u2019s comes the hardest part.\u00a0 Holding the loose loops in place with a couple of fingers, I knitted five stitches using those loose loops.\u00a0 This might have been easier using a #5 needle but only had #7 needles.\u00a0 Done!\u00a0 Now just knit, knit, and knit a tube.<\/p>\n<p>A reminder of how to knit a tube &#8211;
