Here are some uses for a few everyday things that I have found.&nbsp; They might be good for your next camping trip.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use an inverted colander to cover food and keep bugs off.<\/li>\n<li>If you have young children, put those \u201ckeep-bugs-away\u201d candles inside a metal colander to keep little fingers from getting singed.<\/li>\n<li>Use a long piece of spaghetti pasta when you don\u2019t have a long match.<\/li>\n<li>Pack your wine bottles in your hiking boots.<\/li>\n<li>Inexpensive ice-cube trays are perfect for organizing little stuff in a draw or box.<\/li>\n<li>A liberal amount of baby oil will help remove band-aide almost painlessly.<\/li>\n<li>Using a spring loaded wooden clothespin makes a sun shade from a bed sheet by simply clipping the sheets corner to some branches or rope.<\/li>\n<li>One of those clothespin is a good replacement for wire twist ties.&nbsp; Use it as a clip to hold bags of potato chips, dry cereal, and such close.<\/li>\n<li>If you have flies hoovering around your picnic goodies, clip a clothespin on each corner of a bandana or napkin and lay over food.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/clothespin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5702\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/clothespin-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"clothes pin\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s just a few of my alternative uses for everyday things.&nbsp; Do you have some useful dual-use ideas?&nbsp; Let me hear them.<\/p>\n<div class=\"linkwithin_hook\" id=\"https:\/\/www.forestcamping.com\/dow\/suzi\/alternative-uses\/\"><\/div><script>\n<!-- \/\/LinkWithinCodeStart\nvar linkwithin_site_id = 237346;\nvar linkwithin_div_class = \"linkwithin_hook\";\n\/\/LinkWithinCodeEnd -->\n<\/script>\n<script src=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/widget.js\"><\/script>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/pixel.png\" alt=\"Related Posts with Thumbnails\" style=\"border: 0\" \/><\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I try to never pack &#8220;single-use&#8221; items when we go camping.
