I\u2019m not a professional photographer but do I enjoy trying.\u00a0 That is why one of the Arizona Highway features I read faithfully is The Journal – Photography.\u00a0 In the April 2010 issue was a brief question and answer piece with Bruce D. Taubert.\u00a0 (Not familiar with the name?\u00a0 Take a look at his work<\/a> and I\u2019ll bet you\u2019ll remember his name.)<\/p>\n

What I got out of the Q&A was:
\n–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Morning and late afternoon light is best and that\u2019s when most critters are active.
\n–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Photo opportunities are every where.\u00a0 Be ready.
\n–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0You don\u2019t have to have the latest and most expensive equipment to capture a great shot.
\n–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Know your camera.<\/p>\n

Taubert provided seven tips that I think we can all appreciate:
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Get out in the field with an experienced photographer.\u00a0 (I\u2019ve got Fred!)
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Photograph wildlife when it is most active.\u00a0 (Generally, sunrise and sunset.)
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The best wildlife photos are taken when the sun is at your back and reflecting off of an animal.\u00a0 (True for photographing people, too.)
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0For sharp images, use a tripod, especially when using telephoto lenses.\u00a0 (Ever try to hold a camera steady with a telephoto lense hanging off the front of the case?\u00a0 Ugh!)
\n5.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Take photos of wildlife at eye level.\u00a0 (This is easier said than done.)
\n6.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0When taking action shots, use a fast shutter speed.\u00a0 (How do I that with my digital camera?\u00a0 Where\u2019s my instruction book?)
\n7.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Practice, practice, practice.\u00a0 (Just like anything, you get better the more you do it.)<\/p>\n
