Eco-Friendly Cleaning Supplies<\/p><\/div>\n

It that time of year for major Spring cleaning. \u00a0I\u2019m not a big fan of harsh chemicals in my house or the motorhome. I would rather use an eco-friendly cleaning aids and a little elbow grease to clean especially when we are camping. Here are some hints and tips I\u2019ve learned over the years.<\/p>\n

Call me crazy but I do use the little oven in our motorhome and, occasionally, things spill, splatter, or ecape from their baking dish. When that happens, I\u2019ll cover the messy spot with regular table salt while the oven is warm. Wait until oven cools then scrape the food away. \u00a0Finally, wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. Remember, It is always better to get messy spots right away rather than let them bake again.<\/p>\n

Two dogs ensure a dirty motorhome\u2019s floor. I use a solution of 2 quarts (\u00bd gallon or 8 cups) of cool water with 2 Tablespoons of liquid soap and 2 Tablespoons of white vinegar mixed together in a bucket or, in my case, in our little trash container sans the liner.<\/p>\n

Any leftover floor mopping solution can be used to wash bugs off the front of the motorhome. For the more stubborn spots, use a plastic net bag that grocery stores use to package produce, such as lemons or onions.<\/p>\n

I abhor dirty windshields. Although the floor mopping solution works some what, I have a spray bottle filled a solution of 1 Tablespoons of white vinegar and 1 quart of cool water and some newspaper always at the ready.<\/p>\n

One other use for this solution – Sprinkle the toilet bowl with baking soda, let set for a few minutes, than spray with windshield cleaning solution. (Don’t be surprise if it fizzes. \u00a0That’s the chemical reaction between the soda and vinegar.) \u00a0Rub with a toilet brush, or that plastic net bag used to remove bug and flush. \u00a0I toss the net bag afterwards. \u00a0The bowl will sparkle!<\/p>\n
