I am needing to camp, with a tent in ocala national forest. I am not sure I can do this for free, as I can not afford to pay. This is 75 miles from where I am staying with friends. Long story short, I will be homeless very some.

I am truly sorry to hear of your current situation. Unfortunately, most national forest campgrounds require a fee and there is usually a limit on the amount of time you can camp at any given location. I would not recommend setting up camp on a semi-permanent basis in any national forest.
It's easy for me to say, but I assume you have explored other legitimate alternatives for housing in your current area. Surely there is something for you until you can "get back on your feet." Good luck . . . Fred

Thank You Fred,
I am very sure things will come back around for me.. This is what I have been able to find out for Ocala NF. You can stay up to 180 days in a primitive camping site, free, you have to move during hunting season...no problems there, to which they have sites from $5 to $12 a night. call me crazy, but I am kind of looking froward to this. People, times are getting crazy in Florida, 45% of the condo's I stayed in are in foreclosure. From firefighters to warehouse workers, there is no work in Florida, the grass is not greener in the sunshine state.

Is there a specific area for free camping? When is hunting season? Can you keep your car close by while camping or do you have to hike out there? I am in a very similar situation, and had a hard time coming up with the info.
Any other Information of free camping anywhere in florida is helpful
Thanks
