Those of us who have traveled in National Forests or seen Pictures / Videos of National Forests have said at one point or another "I know I've seen this place in a movie". Can you list some movies that have had scenes filmed in National Forests or National Grasslands?

To get the ball started, here is one I remember: A clint Eastwood film named Joe Kidd was filmed in Inyo National Forest.

What about the famous "I Love Lucy" travel trailer story? Can't we all relate?!?!? That was filmed in the Inyo NF on the drive to Cottonwood Lake cg.

And there is a cg in the Shoshone NF called Falls near Dubois, WY which, if memory serves me, was the site for several movies. Can't recall their names.

Parts of the Shining were in Mt Hood NF

Rooster Cogburn Deschutes NF

Possibly some parts of the Last Mohicans, but not sure. Know the ending was filmed at Chimney Rock in NC, and most of the film was filmed in NC. I would assume parts of Uwharrie or Nantahala might have been used.
