OK everybody, obviously this particular topic (tree cuting) is getting a little passionate. Lets not "label" eachother one way or another / lets focus on the ideas. We all have different points of views based on where we come from.

Also, noise in the campground is not related to any one group of people. That is a courtesy issue. When we were in Nicolet during Memorial Day weekend, we had several tent campers that were a lot noisier than anyone else.

Ok, what other things would you like to see if you were able to talk to the person in charge of campgrounds? (Heck, if there are enough suggestions, I may forward them to the NF, NPS, etc people. They are always looking for feedback.

If you need a larger pad to park or more clearance to get your fifth wheel or motor home in , or more room to open up your awning open or your expando out the maybe you need to camp in a privite campground or a state park that has the full hook up you need with electricity sewer and water at the site . and leave the primitive camping for us little guys that enjoy the simple things in life . dont change our campground to accomadate your mobile home .

So, chrstrgn, you are against RVs in national forest campgrounds even if dry camping? If RVrs don't open their awnings, operate their generators, etc. would they then be acceptable? Are you against trimming in general, both tree branches and understory? In regard to the latter, seems to me even tent campers might find things a bit uncomfortable in what we refer to as developed campgrounds. Have you considered tent-only developed campgrounds and disbursed camping? Perhaps you'd feel more comfortable in one of these environments . . . Fred

It seems like if the campground is adapted to the RV we own it is just fine, don't change it. It is a bit like the conservationist who already has his cabin in the woods and doesn't want anyone else to have one. The NF Campgrounds were designed when just about every camping rig out there would fit. We still need some of these but there is a need for sites for larger rigs that there are so many of today. It would seem that at least one loop could be made for these. When I travel by motorcycle and tent I would rather not camp between big rigs so some loops should be left as they are or for tents only perhaps. However when I leave home for 6 months I like a larger rig and would like to be able to fit into more NF Campgrounds.

I like the idea about earning more money by doing away with the outside reservation process too.

Compromise is the name of the game.
