Howdy,

Over the years we have tried plastic containers that drip, old thermos jugs of various sizes whose spigot push release system to allow water to escape became harder to use after a decade of use. We have priced expensive newer models from Coleman and LL Bean and became dissatisfied with the prices. Then while shopping at Wal-Mart on-line we came across this baby

by Reliance. Wal-Mart on-line will ship their products that you may buy on-line directly to the closest Wal-Mart near your home for free. Then all you have to do is go to your Wal-Mart with receipt in-hand and pick it up.

This version we have holds 4 gallons and has worked well for us ever since we purchased it a few years ago. The spigot is stored in the cap(pretty neat)

and it is water lid is drip proof providing a good seal is made. Here it is in set-up

. The retail price is $29.95. And if 3 or 4 gallons of water is too heavy to carry by hand you could always place it on a portable luggage dolly and transport it from the camp ground water source to your campsite.

Wal-mart sells these too under 20 dollars and when folded the luggage dolly doesn't take up much space and is also good to carry a luggage tote(dolly) in case you decide to camp in a walk-in site.

And here is a photograph of the water storage keeper with water in it.

C & C welcomed anytime. What works for you?

I've been using these luggage dollies for hauling water when camping for years now. Because most luggage now has wheels, many of these dollies are becoming available in thrift stores and yard sales. The going price is about $2-$3.
