Happy New Year to all! Hope you are having a great holiday season and are starting to dream about that next outing (hopefully to a National Forest!).

Here is a question to get your camping juices flowing:

Assume that a large private donation received by the National Forest this winter would fund one or 2 physical improvements that could be done to every National Forest so you are motivated to use them more often. What improvement would you like to see that would get you to visit more often?

For example, would having most of the sites in a campground enlargened to handle larger vehicles do it?. Maybe showers? Building additional campgrounds really out in the middle of nowhere or...

Lets hear what your ideas are! Its been too quiet lately!
:)

Physically speaking, it would be nice to keep up on the maintenance. Fix or upgrade tables, fire pits, and maybe trim a few low lying branches.

I go along with that, Ed, except if that's the only potable water source and a pressurized system is not on the table, improve the handpump device so that Hercules is not required to work the handle.

Great question, but I think it needs, (somehow) to be posed to the average Joe Smith, out there wasting his money on overpriced private campgrounds, as those of us that come on here are already addicted & gonna use the NF CG's anyways.
But to answer the question, I'll go along with Korbe on general maintenance & upgrades.

Fix the roads (gravel and grade) and provide at least a hand pump well at each campground. Hauling in water is the pits. So are lousy roads. Harrrumpf.
