Hello My family and I, total of six of us, would like to go cmping in june and we are having a hard time chosing the right place. Last year we went to a campground that was way to populated like a drive-in. We dont want to see our neighbors we want nice trees and scenary around us
Somewhere in the Allaghanies please
fishing is a must too.
dont want to hike further than a mile to the site 4 little ones you know.
other than that we dont need anything but relaxation, and family time

poppet29 - We stayed at Twin Lakes in the Allegheny NF and found the sites spacious, separation very good, and privacy also good. There was a pleasant trail around the lake which had good fishing and a wiley old beaver who enjoyed stealing the bobbers off fishing lines. As I recall it was a popular campground but not noisey or didn't it feel crowded. Another campground that appeared to be overlooked was Beaver Meadows. It has what I would call "pan fishing" and fairly good bank fishing - great for young anglers. We didn't stay at Beave Meadows cg but, as a former tent camper, it left an impression. Hope this helps. I realize this thread is a little old, but we stayed at Twin Lakes recently and our family had a really great time. I second what Suzi said in that there's nice separation and good fishing.
