I am brand new to this forum. I live in Denver, CO and I have recently taken up archery. I am looking for an area that is outdoors that I can go to and set up a few targets for target practice.
Is is legal to set up targets in National Forests and do target practice with a bow and arrow?
If so, and you are familiar with the Denver area, any suggestions on where to go? I would like to stay within 45 minutes to 1 hour drive from I25 and I70 where I can set up some targets and only have trees and mountains to the back. I don't want to have to worry about a hiker with over shoot.
Well, not supervisor, but just the district office.
And that would be more of a Gmae & Fish question, so I would contact them.

The two closest NFs to you are the Arapaho and Pike (and maybe White River). As suggested above, call the supervisor's office for information/suggestions: Arapaho - 970-295-6600 and Pike - 719-545-8737. They may refer you to a ranger district office. Good luck.
