Try Baker's Hole campground in the Gallatin National Forest, MT (www.forestcamping.com/dow/northern/gall.htm). The campground is about 3 miles from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is located on Madison River, which is a premium fishing location. Here are a couple pictures:

Big Meadows Campground is along Big Meadows Road off of the General's Highway. It is open in the summer and fall (generally June/July through October/November). It is located in Sequoia National Forest & Giant Sequoia National Monument and is convenient to both Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. It is located on a high treed plateau next to aptly named Big Meadows. Big Meadows Creek flows nearby. It is a very scenic area and is near many hiking trails. There are picnic tables, fire rings (be sure to check about fire restrictions) and pit toilets. There is no potable water so bring your own. The cost is free! No reservations are needed, it's first-come, first-served. Generally the campground only fills on holiday weekends in the summertime. I very highly recommend this campground. There are also other campgrounds nearby that are in the Forest/Monument and are generally less busy than the National Park campgrounds.

Diamond Lake (aka " 'Skeetervile") is a great place to camp when touring Crater Lake NP. Just bring lots of Deet.
