Noteworthy Red Canyon campground, Dixie NF (UT)

Over the years, we have met hundreds of people who camp at the same campground, some even in the same camp site, year after year. They proudly declare, “We’ve been coming to this campground since I was a kid. Brought my kids here when they were little and now we bring our grandchildren.”

After being in nearly 2000 campgrounds in our travels, we have found a few campgrounds that suit us well. One such campground is Dixie National Forest’s Red Canyon Campground near Panguitch, Utah. What brings us back to this particular campground is the area’s quality hiking and 4-wheel trails, hot showers and a dump station right in the campground, breathtaking scenery all around, and it is convenient to both Panguitch, for a “cook’s-nite-out”, and Bryce Canyon National Park.

Red Canyon campground is one of those places I hope my children’s children can say, “Grandma brought me here when I was a kid. Then, I brought my kids and now we bring our grandchildren.”
