brittlebush_wcholla.jpg It seems that most plants in the desert want to stab, claw, poke, and generally inflect a painful wound on anyone who gets too close. And even if a plant is not equipped to inflict a wound, it knows protection is available from a variety of more aggressivee plants. Here a young Brittlebush grows intertwined with, what I think is, the most pain-inflecting cactus in the desert, a cholla.
