We made it!!! It took more than two hours but what a great hike. And now we can have lunch at the Teahouse with a fantastic view. That might be Mount Lefroy over there. The thunder we heard was the sound of avalanches which, we were told, reach their peak around 2 PM. Fred says they sound like a 155 canon. All I can say is avalanches sound thunderous. Watching the avalanches was amazing. In most cases, we would hear the avalanches before seeing them. Still a mile or more away, the falling snow cascades down the cliff looking like shifted powder sugar - such a delicate appearing event.
