The trail to Horseshoe Bend is only 3/4 of a mile in length. There are some up and there are some down places. They aren't the problem. The challenge is the trail's soft sandy footing. Be sure to look carefully for the little growing things. Tiny blossoms and little lizards live in this hot dry place. Word of advice - take this hike early morning or early evening when temperatures are cooler and bring plenty of drinking water.
