Stuff we did in the Lake Louise area

Nothing in all our research for this trip prepared us for the outstanding hikes and beauty of the Lake Louise area of Banff National Park. Frankly, there isn't much to the town of Lake Louise - several hotels, a couple gas stations, a shopping mall with an outstanding bakery, post office and small grocery store, a couple of Park campgrounds, and lots of friendly people. But Lake Louise is one of the most outstanding places for anyone who loves the out-of-doors. A word of caution: bears are year round residents so practice safe food storage techniques and common sense when out and about.
