This unpretentious building was once the town of North Truro's library. For nearly 100 hundred years a wide variety of books were lent to the people of North Truro to help them pass the time and explore many wonderful places. What was our interest in this little library? Well, the library was given to the community in memory of Elisha Wood Cobb by his daughter and Fred is their descendent. It is surprisingly homey inside with an interior all in dark wood and a huge fireplace as the focal point. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the community has out-grown this tiny building and the new library has all the old books and many new ones. The increasing North Truro population, plus construction problems, caused the Cobb library to close. However, it has been suggested the Cobb library could be used as a heritage research location, housing the many documents and records related to the community and North Truro's families, some of whom, like the Cobbs, are descedents of the Mayflower's pilgrims.
