Pictures from Bass Creek Trial

Bitterroot National Forest, Montana

At the far end of Charles Waters campground in the Bitterroot National Forest is the trailhead for the Bass Creek Trail. The name refers to a former settler, not the fish, that homesteaded along the creek. The trail follows the Creek for about 14-miles to the Bitterroot-Sellway Wilderness. One morning, Ralf, Dani, and I walked about 2-miles up the trail. Hemmed by the Creek on one-side and steep canyon walls on the other, there were no awesome or magnificent vistas to enjoy but we discovered a wonderful variety and number of wildflowers. I don’t know the names of most but that does not reduced the pleasure of having them line our path.
