DIRECTIONS:
In Marianna, AR, take State Rt. 44 east 7 miles to campground
sign.  Turn left at sign into campground.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 40 ft.

This is one of two campgrounds located in the Bear Creek Recreational 
Area.  The other campground is Lone Pine.  The campground, comprised 
of hardwoods, is adjacent to Bear Creek Lake and excellent for fishermen.  
Boats can be tied up close to sites.

CAMPGROUND NAME: Lone Pine VISIT DATE: 04/16/1997 UPDATE DATE: 3/26/2006 STATE: Arkansas REGION: Southern RANGER DISTRICT: St. Francis NEAREST CITY/TOWN: Marianna RESERVATIONS: No DIRECTIONS: In Marianna, AR, take State Rt. 44 for 7.4 miles across Bear Creek Lake Dam to campground sign. At sign, turn right and go 0.8 miles to another campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 2.2 miles to campground. GENERAL COMMENTS: The elevation is 80 ft. This is one of two campgrounds located in the Bear Creek Recreational Area. The other campground is Beech Point. Campground is located in hardwood grove. Boats can be tied up close to sites. Several sites have pleasant view of Bear Creek Lake. SEASONS Open Seasonal: Yes Open All Year: No Seasonal Comment: Open March 15 through November 20. CAMPGROUND NAME: Storm Creek Lake VISIT DATE: 04/16/1997 UPDATE DATE: 3/26/2006 STATE: Arkansas REGION: Southern RANGER DISTRICT: St. Francis NEAREST CITY/TOWN: West Helena RESERVATIONS: No DIRECTIONS: In West Helena, AR, take State Rt. 242 west for 2.2 miles to Storm Creek Recreation Area sign. At sign, turn right and go 4.3 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign and proceed into campground. GENERAL COMMENTS: The elevation is 100 ft. The campground, located in a hardwood grove near Storm Creek Lake, is attractive but under maintained.
