| Dolly Sods, once spruce-covered mountain, is a land in recovery. Clear cuts and fires started by cinders by the railroad's steam engines denuded the land. While the landscape is slowly coming back, you can see the recovery in progress while enjoying gorgeous views of the Allegheny Mountains and Dolly Sods Wilderness. Red Creek campground is a good basecamp to take it all in. |
